Gravity Cast Aluminum Fittings

Gravity cast aluminum fittings for the cylinder head accessories are designed to meet high-quality standards.

As per the drawing, these fittings should have minimum internal defects to ensure superior performance and durability.

The requirements for this product also state that it should undergo T6 treatment for enhanced strength and resistance to wear and tear.

The T6 treatment further adds to the durability and strength of these gravity cast aluminum fittings, making them suitable for use in harsh operating environments. The aluminum material used in the casting process also offers excellent corrosion resistance, ensuring that the fittings maintain their integrity even when exposed to harsh weather conditions.

The dense layer of die-cast aluminum alloy is about 0.5mm. Porosity can sometimes occur in the middle of the part, making it less reliable.

That is why we do not choose die casting process. Gravity cast aluminum does not have this problem.

Unlike some other casting processes, gravity casting ensures that the molten metal fills the mold evenly and without air bubbles or other imperfections. This is because the metal is poured into the mold from above, allowing gravity to distribute the metal evenly and prevent it from becoming trapped or unevenly distributed. As a result, parts made from gravity cast aluminum are strong, durable, and resistant to cracking, warping, and other common problems that can occur with other casting methods.

However, the thickness of the heat dissipation reinforcement in the accessories must be greater than 4mm. If it is too small, there will be a lack of casting due to the problem of material fluidity. Therefore, the reasonable design requirements of the gravity cast aluminum fittings are useful for process choosing.
