Process Analysis
Lost foam casting is also known as full mold casting. It is a casting method that uses dry sand without binder combined with vacuum technology.
This method uses a foam model with a similar size and shape to the castings. The model is buried in dry quartz sand and vibrated after being coated with refractory coatings and dried.
The liquid metal is poured under negative pressure to vaporize the foam model. Then the liquid metal occupies the position of the model. By this, the casting is formed after solidification and cooling.
Due to the complex structure of the motor housing, sand casting production will be very cumbersome, while lost foam production will be very suitable.
